Evidencing the Consumer Standards: a checklist for registered providers

The RSH Consumer Standards apply to every registered provider, whatever your size. The expectation is not only that you meet them, but that you can show it. This checklist sets out the evidence to have ready, organised by standard, so a request from the regulator or a question from your board is straightforward to answer.

The Consumer Standards in brief

What evidence means to the regulator

Evidence is current, specific and traceable. A policy on its own is not evidence: the evidence is the record showing the policy is being followed. Aim for material you could produce quickly and stand behind, not a folder assembled the night before.

Checklist by standard

Safety and Quality

Transparency, Influence and Accountability

Neighbourhood and Community

Tenancy

Obligations vary by provider, tenure and property, so confirm what applies to you.

Keeping evidence current, not one-off

The trap is treating this as an annual scramble. Evidence goes stale: certificates expire, performance figures move, cases close. The providers who find inspection calm are the ones whose evidence is a by-product of day-to-day work, not a separate project.

How DwellGov keeps this live

DwellGov RP Assurance maps each regulatory expectation to the evidence that satisfies it, and links to the source records you already keep in your own Drive or SharePoint. Certificates, risks and regulatory dates stay current as you work, so the picture is always ready to show. RP Assurance supports your readiness and evidence; it does not guarantee compliance or registration, and it does not replace your accountant, auditor or solicitor.
